Licencing Question

Hey,

This may seem like a silly question, but are the LIMITED NAV licences good for anything?  Or as I've discovered after buying 12, they are practically useless.

They can only write to 3 tables, and with our customisation in our NAV, when trying to use a limited licence as originally intended, the user gets trapped within a myriad of error messages.  We then can't even log out.  And have to adjust the licence type back to full to resolve.

Second, do any of you know or have a simple way of displaying all users who are actively logged in and using NAV?

Regards

Dieter

    RE: Licencing Question

    hi Dieter Joseph ,

let me have some additional solutions for you ,

according on to your session question . session page also can as mention by suresh , also if you in the system u can try  "active session" on system also on DB

you can have several solutions according to the user levels , yes you are correct some times limited user license some time make useless , but you can make it as useful

limited user license cannot update all tables also cannot use post function ,

so that case you can use your limited licence some data entry users and keep those data post by one full user license(who like authorization officer), [if you have limited users and if you feel those license are useless you can use this ]

other option is you can use your limited user and send those entries to pending batch and on the dayend time those entries will be posted by dummy user (this will be a customization and we are using this kind of function )

and other thing is this license allow you to keep 100 active sessions on by one user ID (but cannot make post function at once)this is available for both full and limited license

im not sure about the legal constraint about this, but some company never allow you to share your user IDs (Audit levels)

but even you can create user ID by user levels also some common codes , its up to you if you create common user id and let some several users to login on same login , but any how i can tell u its working,

    RE: Licencing Question

Every user needs a license irrespective of their roles. You cannot login if there are no licenses available.

    That's brilliant Suresh! Thank you.

If I may, do you know a way for the administrator to login to NAV, when all licences are taken?

    Regards

    Dieter
