Hierarchy View on Parent Child Cases

Hi

I am just trying to view Hierarchy on Parent Child Case, but i cant see it based on out of the box relationship.

I just created a 1-N referential custom relationship and its showing hierarchy view based on custom relationship.

My question is is it possible to view hierarchy view without custom relationship?

thanks

Anil

RE: Hierarchy View on Parent Child Cases

I have hit this issue as well.

"incident_parent_incident" is read only in the relationship form.

This has the knock on effect of excluding it from the hierarchy set up form which then prevents me from setting up my Rollup field.

Can't establish if this just does not work or if it is being controlled by another piece of configuration.

    Very frustrating.

Should just be turned on by default.

    EDIT

    I am using Version 1612 (8.2.2.112) (DB 8.2.2.112) on-premises.

Can someone please tell me in detail how to turn on hierarchy for incident_parent_incident? It is currently disabled/readonly when i tried to edit the hierarchical drop down.

    Anil,

    Try to set default.

Currently, CRM only supports one relationship per visualization.

    Thanks.

    Hi Abed,

    Thanks for your reply.

I have checked the link and I can see 'incident_parent_incident' relationship. Under relationship definition  Hierarchical is set to 'No' and its read only. I cann't change it.

    Any idea?

    thanks

    Hello anilambadan,

I think  its possible, please refer to : msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn689053.aspx

Please note that there are some limitations for Dynamics CRM 2015  hierarchy visualizations:

1-Maximum of 4 fields are displayed on a tile.

2-Visualization is based on a single entity (not multiple hierarchy)a relationship between 1 entity and itself.

3-At most 1 hierarchical relationship allowed for an entity.

4-Only 1:N relationships can be enabled to be hierarchical.

    Hope this helps,

    Abed.

    Hi Aileen,

Thanks for your reply. My question is specifically about cases. I have created parent and child cases in CRM and I wish to see Hierarchy view of Parent Child Cases. Is it possible with out of the box functionality?

    thanks

    Anila,

You need to edit the default relationship.

    I did testing that.

    See this article:

    missdynamicscrm.blogspot.sg/.../CRM-2015-hierarchy-relationship-new-feature-setting.html

    Especially in limitation number 6

    6. You can have many 1:N Relationship and set the hierarchy to Yes, but you can only have 1 Relationship that enable for Hierarchy Visualization.

So, need your help to go to the relationship and set as default for the OOB one, not custom one.\

Once you add new relationship seems you set it as default, now the custom is the default one for visualization, if you want to make the OOB one then you need to revert back set it as default one.

    Hope this can help you.

    Thanks,.
