Connect button not showing up in model driven app

How do I make the "Connect" button show up on the top ribbon when looking at a form for a custom entity?  The button shows up in the legacy interface on the same form for the same record, but doesn't show when we view the record via the new modern interface.

    Hi,

If you are not able to see the button just go to ribbon workbench and search whether connect button are available on form level or not if it is available just try to drag the button just closure to the exiting button like (deactivate button, save button etc.)

    Thanks,

    Arshad

Connect button has been on form  ribbon - hence it shows when I open the form in the old interface (see initial picture).

Per your suggestion I made a copy of the button and dragged it closer, next to delete.  It still does not appear in the modern interface.

Any other suggestions or ways to diagnose?  I've used the ribbon workbench , mainly to add custom buttons but the show ride rules for system buttons, particularly on the model driven app "new interface" are a black box to me.  There are buttons  you can't hide and then others that don't show and I don't know what rules dictate this.

issue resolved.  I had to delete one of the display rules that was causing the button to be hidden.  This only worked when I made a copy of the connect button and then deleted the rule.  I was not able to make the default connect button show up.

I'm guessing this is just some property of how the button display rules work, I just don't know the details.
