Hi all

Is it possible to split a planned job? I want to split a planned job to be planned in smaller parts: If I have big job (a production to stock) and I want the operators to work with this between other jobs.

Yes, in the planned screen in the maintain section of the action pane there is a split option.

Hi Steven. Thank you for you answer. This is very helpful and it can be a solution for me. What if you have a production job? Can you split production jobs?

Well you can on the creation of the job in theory, it depends when you know and how the split is occurring, I am guessing you are wanting to do this to push it to another machine or something which means the scheduling and capacity will be wrong because it is scheduled.

Thanks again for your answer. I am running jobscheduling daily . I have very short delivery terms for my orders (3 days) except order to increase stock. Normally my jobs are very small, but order for stock can be big. I am planning forward and when I run jobscheduling I realize that I should split my jobs beacuse I do not have a enough capacity to produce the total quantity.

That might also constitue looking at the order sizes of those items to get AX to split them into more manageable sizes for pushing the stock elements into the plan and not impacting on capacity so much.

Yes I am agree. The split option in the planned screen you mentioned is also a good solution to split orders into more manageable sizes. Thanks again
