Security in Purchase requisitions

Good Morning All!

 

I am currently working on customisation of the requisition screen and several people have asked me if there is any way to view other peoples requisitions, as default you can only view "my requisitions"

I currently use record level security to keep departments seperate on the system, could there be an option i have overlooked to use the same security protocol in requisitions?

    We have similar requests from our own users. This appears to be an MS Securoty feature.

    If they have access to the desktop client you can use the Period -> Purchase Requisition -> All purchase requisitions and they can then view by any user. This wont show what stage any workflows are at but will say if the requisition has been approved/received etc.

    The only other way appears to be to override the lookup query for the requisitions which prefilters by the current user. Not 100% sure how to do this so if any of the coders out there have a fix it would be great.

    Hi Neil,

    You can use record level security to filter what the users can see in the "all purchase requisitions" screen, the way i have done it is as follows:

     

    Our company is split into different business departments (L,E,V, Etc) so in each one of the employees information in the Administration i have used the department dimension to apply the business unit. this now means that each member of staff is grouped by the business unit.

    following on from this set up the record level security for users to only have access to other members of staff, this menas that when they go into the "all purchase requisitions" screen they will have the employee filter applied in the background and will only be able to see people in their group.

    obviously different people will have different access rights for differeny areas of the screen so they will need to be modified accordingly, we have members of staff who can look at orders and requisitions but cannot edit but the purchasing team have full control over the purchase leger screen including no Record level security filters on users so they cna see all the requistions from everyone.

    Hope this gives you a few pointers, this is an area i have been working on for a few days now and i think this is the best solution i have come accross.
