Intrastat: How is the value for quantity of additional units calculated?

Hey all :)

I have a question: Do you know where to enter the quantity of additional units for a product in order to create an Intrastat-Reporting?

I found an older entry with following information:
In 2015 it could be found in the released product: Additional Units field in Foreign Trade (tab) -> Intrastat (Group) on the released product form. --> I can not find the field in the current Version of D365 FO Version 10.

The purpose of that field was explained like that: "In the 'Additional units' field in AX, you enter how many inventory units make up this supplementary unit. When you do 'Compress' in the Intrastat functionality, AX will add up the weights of the items that are compressed, but it does not add the 'Quantity'. However, it will add the supplementary units (which you can find in the 'Additional units' field on the 'General' tab on the Intrastat form.)"

--> So if I understood correctly I need to enter this conversion information (from inventory unit to additional unit) on product level in order to generate an Intrastat-Report with correct information concerning the additional units transferred.

Thank you for your help!
Kristina
Do you know if any conversion rate between inventory unit and additional unit (Intrastat) on product level is necessary for this process?
Not to my knowledge.

You can find an example from Terry in this previous thread: https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/33/t/174163

Also check out the general intrastat process described here: http://d365tour.com/en/microsoft-dynamics-d365o/finance-d365fo-en/trading-goods-intrastat/

... and the MS docs documentation here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/financials/localizations/emea-intrastat

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Ludwig,

thank you for your answer :)

Do you know if any conversion rate between inventory unit and additional unit (Intrastat) on product level is necessary for this process?

e.g. one product is stored in pcs but the additional unit is in litre (given by the EU on category level). So it is not clear how many pcs result in how many litre.

    Thank you!

    Best regards,

    Kristina

    Hi Kristina,

You should be able to find the field in the category/category hierarchy linked to your product.
