Navision Attain 3.6: Windows Login seems to be no longer possible!

Posted on by 75

We´re having problems logging in to Navision Attain 3.6. We used Navision until ca. 2 years ago and now only need occasional access to retrieve "old" data. When trying to log in with my Windows account as usual, I now get an error message saying that the system has not been set up to use Windows login.

One hint from our platform expert is that there might have been a registration of the Navision Database in Active Directory with an old name which is no longer available. Anybody knows how to re-register the Navision system in Active Directory? Or another hint on how to solve this issue?

    Hi Roberto,

Thanks for your message! We are trying to follow your suggestion of creating a "super user" on the server.

I didn´t understand what you meant with your last sentence "-  nav server windows service (with regedit check if voices in the registry are rights)”. Can you please elaborate on that? Which "voices" do you mean?

    Best Regards,

    Raquel Pereira

    hi,

    some info & checks

Attain 360 with native database or on sql server ?

have you a nav\sql db user ex: "super" user ?

if you have, try lo login with this user instead of Windows user; after open Windows logins and check if Windows users are in table with format DOMAIN\user

try to add a new Windows user (new Windows ID) and connect with this; try after to syncronize windows logins from  "Super" user.

    Check also:

    - "host" file on server > etc\host\ ip\nav server name

    -  nav server windows service (with regedit check if voices in the registry are rights)
