Track website visits, social media clicks, and banner clicks

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I was wanting to know more about the tracking website visits, social media clicks, and banner click feature.

Is it possible to track a new lead or a new customer who originally comes from from a company's social media page or paid ad e.g. facebook with an embedded utm link in the url to the CMS system and then onto the Dynamics 365.

Also must a new lead or a contact register only on a Dynamics 365 landing page in order to be tracked? Or can the javascript be placed in the CMS system so that it can be captured in the CRM system?

If these types of tracking that I have mentioned are possible can they be implemented in Microsoft Dynamics CRM marketing?

Thanking you in advance for your responses.
Maria

Thank you for your response.  We are able to track facebook analytics and google analytics conversions but the problem is once the person has completed a transaction on our landing page.  This person only appears in our CRM system that this person has come from our website, e.g. source internet.  Are we able to capture the pixel code into our CRM system so that we know that that person comes specifically from facebook and not just blankly internet :)

Your answer is pretty simple, use the Facebook pixel. It has many functionalities in order to track different kind of actions, the only thing that you have to add are those "custom rules" to the pixel code that you have to insert in the html of the desired landing page that you want to track.

    Hope it helps,

    Cheers
