GP 18.4 Email failed to send for report

Hi GP Community,

I have a client that was having problems emailing from Collections Main. I had them create the Client App ID for GP and this resolved most of their issues.  A few other users complained that they could not email. When I logged in with the user and tested emails from Collection Main it worked fine.

I discovered the user emails Journal Entry reports to themselves instead of saving to PDF.  We tested it and the user receives "Email failed to send" error. Has anyone experienced this after adding the Client App ID?

Thank you,

    Hi,

Even though the App ID has resolved the issue with modern authentication with Exchange Online and emailing things such as Sales Invoice and Statements, it does not address the Send To options from reports in GP.  I don't know when this will be addressed but a way around this is printing the report to a PDF printer then email it.  Hope this helps!

    Hello

There are two solutions to get this message to stop appearing, we currently recommend the Outlook solution (first one in the list) as it has no side-effects. The Microsoft Dynamics GP solution does have side effects which are mentioned in the link provided Outlook solution (recommended) Use the following link to solve the issue by telling Outlook that GP is a trusted program Note: This may need to be redone anytime you upgrade GP/Office versions. Dynamics GP Workaround (Has side-effect of the emailed document containing the file path that it was sent from) Force Outlook to use a different version of MAPI.

    Hi Donald,

Thanks for the quick reply. I had asked the user why she didn't save to PDF and she said it didn't always work for her. I'll have her elaborate how long ago that happened, but she preferred to email the document to herself.

Did you find a particular post that mentions this issue? I was not able to find one, but would love to read about it.

    Thanks again!

Please clarify instructions for the Outlook solution and Microsoft Dynamics GP solution. Thanks.
