Named User License Count Report

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 65

Hi All,

I am using Dynamics AX 2012 Feature pack.

I have an issue with the Named User License Count Report (System Administartion >> Reports >> Licensing).

When I execute the report I am getting the license count for each type and assigned users count for each license type.

But when I compare the total assigned users count in the report with the total number of enables users in users form (System Administartion >> Common >> Users >> Users), both are not matching.

I am always seeing more number of users in the users form than the total assigned users count in the report.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Maneendra Kumar Guggilam.

    Hello,

"Named  user License Counts " Report does not include Device Users. its depends on the roles assigned to the  users, meaning if  user is only Submitting Time sheets does not require Enterprise User License.

If you want to do more analysis , take out Users list in Excel and compare with named Users report, you can easily feature out the users who does not exists in the report, then see their assign roles.

please see below blogs for more details.

    Thanks,

    Hi Maneendra,

Please check if the batch for the Named user license count processing is present and is running periodically. If not, the underlying tables for the report are not updated and you will report old data.

Not all users added to AX will have an impact on the licensing report.....since some users may not have any roles that show up on the license report....if a user is in AX and is not part of any role (or any role that has a licensing impact, which is very few such as anonymous)......then you would not have a licensed users on the report but you would see that user in the users form......you can create a job easily that shows you all the users with no license impact....well, maybe quickly but not easily
