Hi, Currently we run few .NET based console application in local server which will create sales order in Dynamics 365 using web API call. This application will get data from e-commerce platform like Amazon and create sales order in D365. Also we pull data from D365 for Shipment and Inventory information which will pushed to Amazon etc., We use SQL database which is already in Cloud. Now we need move the .NET application from local server to the cloud. What will be the recommended VM Size for my requirement. I need the VM to run 24 X 7. Whether B2MS/B4MS will suffice my purpose.

Regards,

Manivannan

if your application running on the current local server without issue, I think the best way to just select VM Template as the nearest config to your current Local Server Config. If you are not happy with the performance then you can scale up as required.

    Thanks ,

In our local server apart from data integration application many other apps are running. we cannot afford that kind of configuration in cloud. As you know Azure VM's are very costly. If you can recommend a VM size for data integration alone it will be helpful for me to decide.

    Hi Manivannan,

I don't know how your application works, but it looks like integration middleware which can be replaced with Logic Apps or you may be interested in WebJobs or App Service. The big advantage that you don't need to maintain VM and there is a lot of nice features are available like scaling.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../logic-apps-overview

    docs.microsoft.com/.../webjobs-dotnet-deploy-vs

    azure.microsoft.com/.../

B series VMs are good if you don't have a constant load, otherwise, it's better to take something from D series

Okay, in that case just monitor Resource Utilization of your application (specially on Peak Hours), then you have a baseline to decide what kind of VM you may need if you are using this application alone.

as Sergei mentioned try /consider to go for SaaS model then you can reduce both cost and administrative effort.
