Default Dimension in Main Account Approach for 'Fixed' and 'Not Fixed'

Dear Experts,

I have one customer, who wants to setup default dimension for main accounts, this is fine, we can do this from main account legal entity overrides.

However, they want to change the default value at the time of posting as and when required in journal lines.

Hence, my understanding is as follows

MAIN Account- Main Account Legal Entity Overrides- Select Dimension- set the value- it is as "Not fixed"- it means the value is defaulted in each journal but user can change anytime in lines

MAIN Account- Main Account Legal Entity Overrides- Select Dimension- set the value- it is as "FIXED"- it means the value is defaulted in each journal but user can not change value (even system will allow to change, but after posting, it will bring only the default setup value setup in main accounts)

Let me know if my understanding is correct?

Hi Ramit,

Yes, your understanding is absolutely correct. For the customer scenario, you can set the value as Not fixed and it will be defaulted on the journals ( again default can be from Customer form/vendor form/worker form/Item/projects ) and the user can change the dimension value during posting.

When main account has fixed dimension, no matter you have set up different value on journal level, the voucher will have the fixed dimension.
