After Installing AX 2012 R3 + CU9 , Kernel version and Application version are different

Hello Experts ,

I have recently installed the AX 2012 R3 + CU9 , my kernel and application version are different , Kernel Version - 6.3.164.0 and Application version - 6.3.2000.323. I read through couple of thread related to this issue and it has been suggested that uninstall binaries (updates ) and then reinstall , but when I see the installed update on the servers for Dynamics AX there are only 5 updates 3 for DMF and 2 US Payroll component, I don't see any other installed update related to AX. When I ran the CU9 installation again only to update binaries then I am not able to select any components.

Any help will be highly appreciated .

    Hi

    From which version did you upgrade?

    did you use the update installer, or a slipstreamed installer?

    if you used the update installer, you may want to check all components on the window to see if the installer tells you if you are missing a prerequisite (it does not stop you if you are missing prerequisites.

    I faced this issue in one of the client. The reason behind the issue was CU8 was only applied to AOS not client. Make sure you have applied CU9 updates to both AOS and Client.

    After lot of R&D I was able to resolve the issue by below thread :

    Basically it was issue with  Report viewer.

    Resolution:
    To successfully upgrade the kernel we need to upgrade to the latest Report Viewer 2012 and remove the AX Visual Studio Tools if they are installed. CU-8 or later binary now supports the new Visual Studio 2013 Dev Tools instead.
