Would you please provide me with the useful  links talking about basic of journals (from business point of view), I do not have any previous experience in accounting and finance programming ?

    Hi Maram,

    To provide an answer is very hard fro people who don't understand financials. But I will try. When you post e.g. a Sales invoice, ledger entries are created automatically. Also the subledgers are updated

    For some scenario's you need to enter additional ledger entries and possible subledger updates. E.g. you need to post customer payments, asset depreciations, ledger corrections, etc.

    In this case you need to create a journal to enter the details and then post the journal to update the ledger and subledgers.

    Also there are journals for e.g. inventory. Normally inventory is maintained by Purchase receipts and Sales deliveries. When you need to adjust the inventory because of damage or loss, you can create the journal to provide additional entries.
