how to increase base table field length in dynamics 365 business central?

Hi Everyone,

We have a requirement to increase the length of the "Search Description" and "Description" field from 50 to 250 for "Table 167 Job".

Can anybody know how to modify the length of any base field by creating an extension, please tell what will be the best way to do this.

You will need to create a new field.

The existing fields are connected to a lot of different places.

you cannot change base field length, it is also not recommended as "Description" field will flow to other table such as open document , posted document and ledger entry.

It is better to create additional custom field for it.
