To assign fixed asset numbering chronologically

We would like to assign the FA number automatically once we create a FA item with prefix FAYYYY######
Where
FA = constant
YYYY= year of created date
###### = running number.

After next year, the running number will be reset from 1

Any ideas?

To configure the sequence number with year, the format of number sequence doesn't contain year present.

Also, it need update the number sequence yearly.

Hi J Lee,

The fixed assets are not linked to a ledger period. In that case, there is no support to have the year automatically added to a fixed asset. As a workaround, you can set the year manually as part of the prefix (or number sequence) and change the settings of the number sequence for fixed assets at the beginning of a new year. This would be then a manual procedure at the start of a new calendar year.
