I have a small question. a small business case and I want to check if ax2012 has a default functionality.
We make a product "P" and we want it to be painted. but we do not make the paiting.
so we make a purchase so other company "C" (who can paint) paint that product for us.
now the question comes? does axapta has some track capability to now how many peaces when sent to that service supplier?
how can we track that they really received the product we sent to them and they confirm that in fact the received it?

Hi Nestor,
This flow is called Subcontracting and yes it's covered by a standard feature.
You need to create the painting item as service and give it a storage dimension.
Then insert this item into a BOM for the finished Product.
Then you need to create a warehouse for your subcontractor and assign to it a vendor number. You need to create a Production order on there warehouse and process partial Report as Finished journals in order to track the consumption of the semi-finished goods and Paints and the production of the item.
N.B : you can add as well all services you want in a BOM like the Manpower services.
