Recover Lost or replaced database

I have got in a big trouble ! I was trying to restore a database in an empty one. I put the restore files in D directory of Windows, then create a new empty database and tried to restore that files in the new db. But It seems I restored that files in our original crm365 database ! Now in the data directory of MSSQL; the actual .mdf and .ldf files of CRM365 do not exist and in MSSQL Server, when I right click on CRM365 and go to the properties tab, it points to the files in D directory! Is there anyway to get them back? Can I use recovery utilities? I did not create a backup recently and last accessible backup is about 20 days left!

Any help will appreciated !

    Hello,

I'm afraid that the backup you have is your best choice.

You mean there is no way?

My backup is about 20 days left and it means 20 days of data has lost.

    Albert,

That's what I meant. I'm afraid you lost data for those 20 days.

Any chance you backed up your server if it is virtual?

Actually the DB Server is a VM and my backup is a snapshot of the VM !

It seems I have to restore the VM.

The only solution is the backup that you have which is 20 days old.

It'll help you to recover as much as is possible.
