Use outbound subscription centers in real-time journeys - DOES NOT WORK!

 Hi

I'm really hoping I'm missing something here rather than a bad product bug which has serious implications for compliance.

But this article documents how to use OB Marketing subscription centre in a RTM email:

The big problem is when you use it the OB preference centre does not update the donotbulkemail field on the contact.

The same form works via an Outbound marketing email, and any subscription lists also get updated via both OB and RTM marketing emails.

Anybody else experienced this issue?

Thanks

Hi just wondering if anyone has managed to sort this at all since the posts last year - we are facing the same issue now.

    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I got the same problem.

Tried multible variations compliance profile with external link, Compliance Profile with Subscription Center. Always the same result "do not bulk email" and "do not track" do not update and are not even prefilled correctly in the subscription form.
The very same form works when using it in an outbound journey.

Current Version is 1.1.26671.175. Updated a demo tenant to new version 1.1.26671.183, but still the same issue.

If it is working with anyone reading that, could you please check in audit history which user changes the record for do not bulk and do not track?

    Thank you,
    Martin

    Hello!

Oddly enough I was having this exact same problem.

A few months ago, I set up a Compliance record using an external link. The URL for the external link is a page on the client's website which has the script from an OB marketing form added. Everything was working just fine. The unsubscribe link in the email opened the webpage with the form, and when it was submitted, the Contact record was updated.

I don't know if it was the May or the June release that stopped it working, but we noticed on 11 July that the do not allow bulk email field in the Contact record was no longer being updated when the form was submitted. AGH!

I had a support ticket open with Microsoft but they seemed to be unable to work out what the issue was. But then over the weekend of 15/16 July, the client's environments were upgraded to the July release (version 1.1.26671.175). As if by magic, the subscription form is now updating the Contact again.

So I recommend upgrading to the latest version of marketing to see if it also fixes your issue.

    Best regards

    Deborah
