Can someone explain me the purpose of EVENTCUD table in D365 FO

Hi,

I need to understand the purpose of the "EVENTCUD" table in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.

As part of our efforts to monitor and manage storage, we need to reduce the size of the EVENTCUD table, which is the third largest table by storage capacity. Is there a way to delete data from this table without affecting any processes?

Could someone guide me on this?

Hi Rubalingam.

The EventCUD table stores record events based on the alert setup. If a user enabled alerting for e.g. vendor master updates and a field got changed, a record in this table is stored that the event happened. A batch job will then process these records and send alerts to subscribed users.

In case the batch job Change based alerts is not running, the events will not be processed and the table can grow. When the batch is not running, you can enable it, but it will probably create a huge load of alerts for old events.

To be able to clean up the table, you can write a custom script after checking if removing the events will not cause another issue for your users waiting for alerts.
