Change or filter Dashboard Views for specific user role

Hi All,

I have created one dashboard on which there are two views from Opportunity entity.

Now, my requirement is to show opportunities based on security role

e.g. If I am user A and if opportunity contains information about B, I should see all other opportunities except B inside the view

If I am user B, I should see only opportunities that contain information about B inside the view

How should I achieve that?

How to filter view based on security role?

Filtering is possible on views?

    Hello,

You have the possibility to allow specific security roles to a dashboard.

You could imagine to create 2 dashboards. Because unfortunately, you cant ootb display a specific view based on the user's security roles.

You could also use the permissions within the security roles, to display opportunities based on the read/write permissions on user/team/bu/global level.

Or other possibility (but heavy one), write a plugin on the retrieve message of the opportunity, to filter the opportunity retrieved based on a security role of the user.

    Hi New Bee,

This will be taken care by CRM.

If the user doesn't have any permissions on the records, they wont be able to see them by default.

    Thanks and Regards

Hi Clement, Thanks for the reply. How can I use the permissions with security role to display opportunities based on the read/write permissions on user/team/bu/global level?

When you go to a security role, you have this at the bottom :

    3644.Capture.PNG

this tells you who will see the records:

Example, if the circle or write permission is set to "User" then the user will be able to edit only records he is owner of.

"Business Unit" allow all users within the same business Unit as the creator to edit it for example.

This way, you have 5 level of hierarchy you can use to filter the possible actions / reading of data.
