NAV Menus - not all items are seen by users

Hello Everyone,

I am having an unusual issue. I started making my own menus so that I can populate them as I want.

However, I have a menu that I making now. Some of the items are visible to the user and some of the items are not visible to the user.

How does that work? Are there specific permissions for each item within a menu? Does it matter whether or not the item is a custom object?

I typically manage it through the "Assign Users function of the navigation pane designer.

(this is in the classic client)

Please try below link on the User Profile to seperate the menu by User Logon ID.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd338721.aspx

You can also change the profile layout using -profile:<profile name> -configure

    Example:

    Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Client.exe -profile:”ORDER PROCESSOR” -configure

    Hi

Please check whether those objects are within the users License range

I am not sure if user profiles are applicable because we are on the classic client, not the role tailored client.

One thing to note: if I make the user a super (data), they can see the items.

of course, that isn't a solution, but that makes me think that this is some kind of permissions issue.

    Thank you Rajesekhar,

How would I go about seeing a user's license range?

Would someone's license range change if they were a super (data) ?

Thanks to everyone for participating. As it turns out, it was just a basic permissions issue.

I didn't realize that the user can't even see the item in the navigation pane if they don't have the right permissions.

Benjamin, how do you do this in NAV 2009 classic client, now that you managed to do it?
