What's the difference between an owner and an account manager for Contact & Account

Hi ;

I was wondering what's the difference between an owner and an account manager for Contact & for Account in CRM?

As we have our team of Support editing the entities contact and account; should the support tech be the owner and the sale rep the account manager?

Hi,

Owner is a specific user who have created this record or is currently assigned, when we setup owner CRM runs some cascading operations in background.

Where as account manager could be a custom field created based on the requirement.
