Can we change Item Model Group for Service Item ?

Hi guys,
 
As per my understanding, we cannot change Item Model Group once it has transactions. But can we change it, if it is Service Item ?
Service item do not have inventory transactions and as I checked in PurchLine, SalesLine, and InventJournalTrans table and no such item being used.
However, as I try to import the changes using DMF, there is still error saying like this :
 
You cannot change the item model group because that would cause the Inventory policy to be changed.
 
Anyone can help me to solve this issue ?

    Can we change Item Model Group for Service Item ?
    Item Model Group can be changed for Stocked and Non Stocked both the items, however it has to be Stocked to Stocked and Non Stocked to Non Stocked.
     
    If you are in ITEM model Group which Stocked =YES, you can change to other ITEM model group whose setup is similar to the existing, if not, you cant change.

    So that is the case then. I am about to change from Non stock to Stock. Now I understand.
