I am trying to setup our item locations and am struggling to figure it out. Once that is completed I will have to understand how to input this at the item level Ie.. Item # 123456 Goes in Aisle A, Rack 2, Shelf 3, Bin 2.

We have Aisle / Rack / Shelf / Bin (Designated by a Letter / Number / Number / Number)

We have about

80 different "Aisles"

Up to 10 Racks per aisle

Up to 10 shelf's per rack

Up to 10 bins per shelf

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    No.

It depends on how you define your location format. You can have maximum upto 10 characters, where you can define the required number of AISLES, RACKS, SHELVES, BINS

    Hello,

Is it true that there is a maximum 5 bins per rack? Or how can I create more than 5 another way than manually?

    Thank you

    Thank You Fredrik.

    Two more questions.

We have some locations that are setup with DEF as the default receipt and issue locations within warehouse management. Is there a way to change that so warehouses to not need to be recreated?

Looks like it only allows a maximum of 99 aisles, 9 shelves per rack and 5 bins per rack?

If you have do not have Warehouse management activated:

    1. Set up your warehouse and add the granularity by ticking th different boxes for aisle, rack and so on.

Use # for numbers and & for letters in the text boxes for example "-##" (01,02,03...) or "-&#" (A1, A2.. B1..)

    2. Click the location wizard and run through it.

You can create Special(inbound and outbound), Bulk and picking locations.

Give me a shout if you're using WHS and I'll talk you through that process or if you need more on this process.
