Unable to upload 3D .gltf files in Guides

Hello

Trying to upload 3d files (.gltf ) to Guides via PC application.  It starts the upload process and then quits with a "upload failed" erro.  These files are not big.  Any ideas as to why the upload failed?

I have the same question (0)

I agree the documentation is not clear, but for Guides, I believe only the .glb format works. Which .glb is the binary form of the .gITF format. So actual .gITF file formats don't seem to work. At least from my experience.

When you look at the documentation, particularly on converting models, it only shows the .glb format. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/mixed-reality/import-tool/convert-models

Hi Chiappr, you mentioned the files are not big. But to narrow down the investigation, can you confirm that you have adjusted the maximum file upload size as described here: docs.microsoft.com/.../setup-step-two

    Hi Dave,

I confirmed the settings you posted.  I did find an article that mentions exactly what is going on with my issue however, it is not clear on how what they mean in the highlighted statement below.  I downloaded a small 3D file for testing and it has the same results.

Uploading glTF files that have dependencies across different folders might cause upload errors

"Some glTF files might have dependencies in other folders. During upload, if the app doesn't have permissions to those folders, errors can occur, or 3D models in the gallery might be broken. When you upload glTF models, make sure that you have permissions to all dependencies, or that all dependencies are in the same folder."

Quick follow-up - I sent you a message through this platform to directly send me a copy of the 3D model so our engineering team can investigate. Alternately you (and anyone else) can submit technical logs via the Windows Feedback Hub. To do this:

    1. Start the Feedback Hub app.

    2. Type a brief description and tap Report a problem.

    3. Describe in more detail on the next screen and then tap Next.

    4. Select Apps and Dynamics 365 Guides. This will ensure the report is routed to our team.

    5. You will be prompted to find similar feedback. Take a quick look at the list (and select one if you see the same issue) but otherwise select the first option for New feedback.

    6. Next, you will be prompted to select the severity and a general description of the problem.

    7. Next, attach any screenshots and/or 3D models (if permitted by your company policies).

    8. Tap the Start recording option and reproduce the problem. Feedback Hub will collect telemetry and other technical logs while you execute the procedure that is causing the problem. Be sure the Include data about Dynamics 365 Guides (Default) is checked.

    9. Once you finish the recording, you will have the option of deleting the logs and trying again.

Tap the submit button. The logs will be uploaded and routed to our team.

I also encountered the same problem. Is your problem solved?
