Hi

I know where to setup disposition codes in AX, but I'm not sure how to control where it posts to..?

i.e. SCRAP should be expensed, RETURN should post back into stock, CREDIT ONLY has no effect, etc.

I believe this is controlled by the 'Disposition Action'

    Hi James Solomon,

The action defines what happens with your items and the ledger accounts that are used are defined in the inventory posting matrix under inventory Management - Setup - posting - posting.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thanks Ludwig

Each Disposition Action will have it's own postings I'm assuming.

I see SCRAP generates a quality order when posting the invoice.. I'm getting an error when posting the invoice - community.dynamics.com/.../168081

can you assist with that possibly?

    Hello James Solomon,

What inventory and financial dimensions can you see in the invoice form?

Are there some required dimensions missing?

Can you possibly share a screenprint?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello James,

Based on the error message shown in the other post I found some methods that check the item reservations and invent trans data for missing inventory dimensions, such as site, warehouse, etc.

There must be something missing in your lines.

Can you check whether all required inventory dimensions are filled?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig

I'm just reaching out to my WMS specialists, to see if it has something to do with the Location/Stock-Status that the Item has been returned with.

To answer your questions above: I have checked and made sure that there is a SITE/WHS/LOC on all the lines.. I think the issue has something to do with the item being returned (for scrap) as status 'available'.. Changing the status on the return, gives an error about a location restricting different stock statuses.. Thus the assumption above :)

    Will keep you posted!

    Hi Ludwig

After some troubleshooting, I found that a quarantine warehouse was needed to be setup in the system, and linked as the default quarantine warehouse for the source warehouse (the warehouse where it was sold from).

Further to this, a default location was required to be setup for the quarantine warehouse.. I'm having some difficulty setting this up, but will troubleshoot further..
