PowerBI Tiles in D365 Finance and Operations - Open Tile Catalog

Hi,

I am attempting to pick up and pin a tile from the PowerBI service into D365 Finance and Operations workspace. I have seen another post which is a similar but not exactly the same issue I am experiencing.

My issue.

  • I create a tile in PowerBI service
  • I go into a workspace in D365 F&O
  • I go to options and open the Tile Catalog and I see the image below.
  •
    • But the Tile content is available in PBI Service
    • I am able to add Reports from the Open Report Catalog - so I know that the application ID/Key etc are all fine it is just the tiles that do not show any data here.
    • I can click and add the tile but I cannot see any data?

  • Any ideas?  Am I missing something basic here?

Thanks in advance

Declan

    Hi Declan,

If this is the first time you access the reports, please perform an Entity Store refresh as below steps:

    1. Go to System administration ->Setup -> Entity Store
    2. Tick all the entity store > choose Refresh > choose OK:

    3. Go to System administration > Inquiries > Batch job, search for “Full reset” or “Deploy measurement” in Job description:

    4. Wait until Status of the batch job is Ended. Then try to access your Powerbi tiles  again..

    Hi Prakash,

Thanks for this update but yes I have updated and refreshed Entity Store and refreshed entities. I do this all the time as we currently deploy our PowerBI reports built in the VMs via the LCS. When we deploy I always update Entity.

Just so you know - when I open REPORT catalog (which looks at the 'My Workspace' in the PowerBI service) I can find and add my reports to a workspace.

However the Tiles do not seem to work.

As an additional question just in case you have had some experience with this - do you deploy and use PBI reports in your D365 Finops environments? If you do what method do you use to deploy - via PBI embedded controller in AOT OR LCS?

    Regards

    Declan
