Error when running historical trial balance

Posted on by 5

Hello,

We have an issue that I cannot seem to crack. When running a 800+ page historical trial report in GP 2016. It would appear to lose connection (guessing) to the server after 80% of report is completed and spits out the error. Error Code: -2147467259, Method `CreateADOConnection` of object `DUserinfo` failed, fetchField.

I can replicate this issue on all but 1 machine where a previously employed made an undocumented change in order for it to work.

Has anyone come across this and or know how to resolve?

Thanks!

I am not sure about the customization, but I think it may have been related to UAC as I disabled it and no longer receive the  CreateADOConnection error, but now I am getting an out of memory on all but 1 workstation. GP never uses more than 1gig itself and I have adjusted the virtual memory but the issue still remains. I've read a few posts about it possibly being a corrupted dictionary, but on all machines except the one? Seems more like a system configuration change that might need to happen but for the life of me I can't figure out what.

Is there some kind of VBA customization on the report? That is the first thing that popped in my head when seeing the error message.

Do you know what was exactly modified on the report?

However, if there are errors on the trial balance, until you locate and correct ... are the history of what the business did during the accounting period.

I really can't find much, other than with the error # of -2147467259 in regards to the CreateADOConnection method, it sounds like the connection with the GP databases is being dropped or lost, which may also make sense as to why the report works on only 1 machine, but not  the others.

I wonder if there is some type of timeout setting or something that may have been done on the one workstation that wasn't done on the others?

Hopefully others in the community may have experienced this type of issue and/or have more to add to this.

    Thanks
