AX 2012 R2 VM in VirtualBox

I am trying to get a AX2012R2A-v3 to run in Oracle Virtual box, but it is stuck is starting mode- AOS60$01.

I have been following the instruction from Bill Curtis video on YouTube. All other relevant services is running except for the AOS60$01.

Does anybody have an idea what to do?

I can see that there is no connection to lib:  W, X, Y (RetailProductCatalog)

However, I don’t think that It is that there is causing the stuck mode.

    Please check if VM box is having enough memory, because I have seen case where because of memory starting AOS gets slow.

    Other thing what you can do is to check the windows Event log..

    there you will get the status of AOS starting process... and see what is happening...

    if there is any error then Windows Event log should have some details, which will help you.

    if there is no error in Event log then my suggestion would be to wait for starting process to complete or enhance the VM resource.

    may be you can monitor the VM performance using task manager.

    Please verify....

    Hi Nitesh

    In the Taskmanager I can see three Processes which use a lot of CPU and Memory

    SQL Server Windows NT 64 bit (MSSQLSERVER)                 38-90 %

    SQL Server Windows NT 64 bit (POWERPIVOT)                     12 %

    SQL Server Windows NT 64 bit (SHAREPOINTREPORT)     10 %

    IIS Worker Process                                                                         40 %

    There percentage change of cource.

    I have stopped the AOS60$01.

    But the CPU utilization is still 99% and Momory 94 %.

    I just bought a new lenovo B590 8 GB Ram and a lot of memory.

    Maybe i cut stop  (POWERPIVOT) and SHAREPOINTREPORT while  I start AOS60$01

    Hi Nitesh

    In my Taskmanager I see no Throughput on either Ethernet8 or -9.

    Maybe thats the problem?

    I have Internet Connection.

    Sorry I see some Throughput on -8. But it is -9 that is set up according to adddress and mask

    10.20.12.101..121   255.255.255.0

    Bill says I have to add the host file entries

    If you're running the R2 v2/v3 image under VirtualBox and *not* using the DNS server you'll need to add the following hosts file entries:

    127.0.0.1 www.contoso.com (orignial IP 10.20.12.120)

    127.0.0.1 www.fabrikam.com (orignial IP 10.20.12.121)

    127.0.0.1 dynamicsax.contoso.com (orignial IP 10.20.12.110)

    127.0.0.1 my.contoso.com (orignial IP 10.20.12.111)

    127.0.0.1 dynamicsaxhelp (orignial IP 10.20.12.113)

    127.0.0.1 intranet.contoso.com (orignial IP 10.20.12.112)

    127.0.0.1 ax2012r2a

    127.0.0.1 dynamics01

    WHERE DO I DO THAT?

    You'll also need to edit the IIS bindings for all but ax2012r2a to use all available instead of the 10.x addresses that they come assigned to.

    IT THAT NESSESARY BEFORE START???
