That's a pretty broad question. By the way, could you update your message title to contain something related to your question - such as "Events in D365FO"?

I think most of the event names are pretty descriptive.

    For example:

onLeavingRecord is executed when the user leaves a record (active /selected record is changed on a grid)

onLeftRecord is executed when the user has left the record

onMarkChanged is executed when the selected record changes

onPostLinkActive is executed after "linkActive" method

onQueryExecuted is executed after the form data source query is executed.

    And so on.

My suggestion is to create event handlers and debug when they will be executed when you do different things on the form. That's the best documentation that you will get.

When to use the events? You use them when you want to run your code after some specifc thing (the event) happened on the form.

    Hi,

In your cases I would start with event method sequences article to understand in which order methods are executed on a form (docs.microsoft.com/.../event-method-sequences-in-form-scenarios). It will give you better understanding when to use certain methods.

There is also the list of events that you can correlate with methods on form. Usually, you have a pair of events per method, but there are exceptions

    Hi Ashokkumarm,

Please edit your title because it says nothing and all and confuses community members.

Also put some descriptive tags other than 'Other'.

    Many thanks,

    Ludwig

Nice Rahul Mohta, i can understand but i want definition with example in all events because i don't know the flow which one is when executed (after or before), this is also helpful but i want even more explanation about event.

                                Thankyou..

The list of form events is also in documentation under Customize through extension and overlayering > Form extensions.

If you want examples, simply look into the standard F&O application.
