Import Inventory Items Information

Our company had been recently acquired. The new owner wants to add new item numbers to our Dynamics GP from their other system. Is there a quick way of importing these item information or will I be better off entering them one by one?

Yes small, custom utility can easily be designed for importing item in GP from your other system. If you have developers in your company they can do it by using IM,eConnect etc.

    RE: Import Inventory Items Information

Greetings, I think that the answer will be largely determined on the volume of Items you are talking about.

If you have access to the 'new' items in a standardized format - such as Excel - and if you have Integration Manager, then that is the best way to handle the import.

Again, it depends on amount of items and your access to the tools.  There are other ways, Macros being one, but using the application and the tools designed around making it work better, is the way I steer my clients over the years.

    Hope this helps.
