DataEntity Change Tracking ... how to reset and export all data

Ciao,

I have a problem with a DataEntity and change Tracking. I would like to ri-export all records and enable newly the change tracking but after that, every new insert deletes the content of staging table in the BYODB. I have just try to republish the DataEntity without good results.

I have remove the DataEntity from the batch job... disable the change tracking, drop the dataentity, enabled the change tracking (only for the primary table ... but the DE just has a only table)... publish the DE in BYOD and reinsert in the batch job. but these actions doesn't active a initial full push... and the table remains empty...

I'd like that D365 exporting the all data and continue to manage the change tracking for the DataEntity like the first time
Thank you

Grazie

Michele

    Hi Michele Becchio,

Is there any error message on the execution log?

Please try disabling change tracking and then export.

    Hi will,

no error ... now I have inserted the DataEntity in another data project (with incremental push) and the system export all data like first full push... this is corret.... It seems that the incremental push is linked to the export batch job... It is strange that if i want to reset the change tracker I need to insert the Dataentity in a new Data Project... In production I have more then one DataEntity in incremental push and I'd like to manage the change tracking without move the DE in a new project.

    Hi Michele,

In general, the republication of a data entity requires:  Regeneration mapping on the entity, Publish the Dataentity to BYOD, Re-add entity on a data project.

I think you have to move them into new data project.

    Hi Will,

thank you! Exactly if I create a new Data Project and insert the DE in incremental push the process starts with a full push and the next executions continue with incremental correctly... I don't understand why I can't remove and reinsert the DE in the same Data Project to repeat  the corret process instead of create a new one... In production I have 2 data project (one for DE in full push and one for DE in incremental) managed by Microsfot Azure Data Factory and I'd like to not change the data project but only update in case of update in D365. Now I create a template of the dataproject... in this case I rename the current Data project in OLD and I create a new one with il template and rename it with the same name of older DataProject in order to not change ADF and continue to use the same workflow to export the data to BYODB.

    Best regards,

    Michele
