Hi There,

We are importing client hostorical data into Microsoft Dynamics NAV however, the document number does not follow chronologically because some of the vouchers were voided. When posting these uploaded transactions Dynamics is asking that the numbers should follow. What can we do so we can post these historical transactions.

Thanks

    Hi,

In the No. Series You can Tick the Manual Nos. That will help you to post the Historical Data once everything is Done Reset the No. series for new entries and Remove the Tick on "Manual Nos."

Agree with Indika, the most efficient option is to use Maual Nos in the number of series setup: msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh170603(v=nav.90).aspx

Hi Alex, thanks for the feedback. I have selected the manual nos but cannot post the general journal as the numbers look like this REC001, REC002, REC005, RECOO8 etc. When you post the error feedback is that the 3rd line should have a document number REC003. I guess because the incremental field has 1, the system will still require you to follow the numbering chronologically even if it is in a manual mood. Is there anywhere in say development that this can be resolved. Or what other options are available. Thanks and on standby.

Check No Series field on general journal batch. Just empty this field.
