Visual Studio 2012 support?

Is Visual Studio 2012 support in the works? When installing Dynamics AX 2012 developer tools on a visual studio 2012 machine I get the error:

We are using features in our application that have broken edit and continue under visual studio and the recommended fix by microsoft is to use a newer version of visual studio:

    I'm not expecting AX 2012 to support VS 2012 soon, but that's my personal opinion. However, you should not have a problem installing visual studio versions side-by-side though.

    Joris is correct in his assessment - you will need to run both Visual Studio versions side by side as Dynamics AX 2012 will only work with Visual Studio 2010.

    Does this hold true now that Dynamics AX 2012 R2 is out - and Visual Studio 2012 update 1 is out?

    Eric,

    Microsoft always releases "compatibility" reports, which indicate whether they have tested specific versions of software together. When they do, that also means they support those versions/integrations. There has been no report of AX 2012 (R2 or otherwise) supporting VS 2012.

    Consider that plugins (such as the AX developer tools) for VS 2012 need to be using the 4.5 framework and VS 2012 API. This would basically mean a separate version of the AX developer tools just for VS 2012 - so it's not just about supporting the version, but indeed having the plugins redone to work with that version.
