Expense Payment Method Offset Account does not allow for additional dimensions

I have setup an Offset Account (Ledger) for my Payment Method "Company Paid".  When the expense report is created, the user has the option to change the line dimension values, i.e. the Department.  When they do, the resulting subledger journal shows the adjusted expense line dimension change, but the offset account journal line still shows the original defaulted dimension value.  Does anyone know if there is a parameter to force the offset account journal entry to adjust accordingly, to match the expense line dimension change?

I have the same question (0)

    HI Oceanfish,

I'm not fully able to understand your scenario. Can you probably add screenshots to illustrate your issue?

In All Expense Reports, click into an expense report, click on one expense line, click Subledger Journal to see what journal lines are generated for eventual posting.

In the screenshot, the top line is the Offset Account 2020 with the employee's defaulted values 11-4580.  The second line should have been 11-4580-6528, but in the Distribution screen they changed the middle value (Dept) to 5700.  That's fine, but now the journal is only half correct.  The updated dept (done by the user), but the offset account dimension string still shows the original dept 4580.  Shouldn't it have changed based on the updated Dept value?

    Hi Oceanfish26,

When someone changes the distribution, it will not update back to the expense lines. The result should be that the voucher will get the values from the distribution.

That's what I thought, but according to what I am seeing (in the screenshot) only the Expense Line distribution is stored.  The Offset Account, which is not shown in the Expense Report as it is a configuration of Expense Mgmt, is not updated according to the Distribution provided by the user when they indicate a different distribution Dept.

Is that a setting I am missing, which tells D365 to also modify the Offset Account dimension string as well?
