Hi everyone-
I am experiencing a strange issue with Returns Managment and the RMAs. In RMA Entry/Update, the user is clicking the Process button to either create the RTV or create an inventory scrap transaction.
Once this is done, they are unable to mark the RMA lines ready to close and close the RMA.
Looking in the tables:
In both SVC05000 and SVC05200, the RMA_Status field is 7 and the RETSTAT field is 3 (this is the indicator for received in this GP company). I know that RMA_Status of 7 is Open RTV or Work Order. The inventory scrap transaction linked to this RMA is posted and complete.
In other RMAs, the RMA_Status field is 8 and the RETSTAT field is 3.
Messing around the my test company, I changed the RMA_Status field to 8 and was able to click the Ready Close button and close the RMA.
So, I am assuming there is something going on where the transaction linked to the RMA is not updating the RMA -- and then it can't get closed. Is this a bug? GP 2018.3.
Thanks.
Joe
Hello Joseph,
Thank you for using Community Forums. My name is Becky and I will assist you.
If the status of both the RMA and the RMA line is 7 it indicates that there is something not completed yet on the RMA. The status of the service call will not prevent you from closing the RMA.
Status of the RMA:
0- New
1- Repair
2- Credit
3- Replace
4- Ship
5- None
7-Received with open RTV/WO
8-Received with closed RTV and WO
9-Ready to close
10- Closed
RMA update window ‘Ready to close’ button will be disabled when RMA Status = 0 or 7
I think we need to check the process table to see if these is an RTV or a Work Order assigned to the line that has not been completed. Can you send me back the results of the following script.
select * from SVC05210 where RETDOCID='enter your RMA number'
If there are no records in this table for the RMA you can update the status for both the header and the line using SQL and see if you can then close the RMA line.
If you have any questions, let me know.
