How to add Customer "Location Id"

Hello,

on Customer Addresses I wanted to add "Location Id" via Personalize.

When I click "Add fields" the "Locations" table was not visible, so I added "Location" field from "Global address book", but the value isn't that I wanted.

Then I noticed that after adding the "Location" field from Address book, now I can see the "Locations" table and I can add "Location ID" field and correct value is retrieved, but if I close the Customer form I'm getting the error message: "An error occurred while unpacking XXX_XXX_LocationId.  This control will be skipped" and the field disappears.

How is it possible to have "Location ID" visible on customer address without any development?

Hi, adding "Location ID" should not be an issue at all. The error message you are getting points towards some kind of issue with the usage data of the particular form. Try to reset the usage data for that form and try again to add it. You can reset your usage data from the Tools | Options menu. Remove the records for the form in question. Note: resetting your all your usage data will remove all personalisations and saved queries, test it in a test environment first!

    Hi Joni,

The reason why the table is visible is because the Location field on the global address book table is having a reference field set. So it recognizes this reference as the field Description from the Location table. That is the reason why the table name is now visible in the table list. But this table is not defined as datasource on the form. This will cause your error.

I can reproduce it. So to be able to add the field correctly, you can add the datasource on the form or extend the view DirPartyPostalAddressView which is used on the address grid.

I do agree the visibility of the table is confusing.
