Hi Microsoft,

We have a business central license that by mistake ran out the 4th of april 2024.

We are now upgraded to Business Central 25 and are going to production, and we just now realized that the license has not been renewed.

How can we fix this issue? Is there no way to renew this license?
The license is bought with 7 essential users and a series of selected permissions.
We do not wish to pay the full amount for a new license.

Regards, Asger.

You need to consult with your local partner for better advise.

    Hi @Nitin Verma,

Do you think it is possible to renew the existing one?

I'm in dialogue with local partner, however this is a very critical issue and i'm trying here aswell to get some kind of answer regarding what is possible and what is not.

Thank you for your fast answer.

    Regards, Asger.

    Hi Asger,

    Customer License never expires.

You might be using partner license. Partner license expires after a defined time.

Check what license you are using Business Central Administration Shell.

    Hi @Saurav.Dhyani,

If the customer license fee of 18% yearly isnt paid, the license cannot be used for e.g Business Central 25, when it was created and expired before BC25 was released.

Can we just now, pay the 18% and get access to use that license for the BC25 version?

    Regards, Asger.

On-Premise Licenses don't expire, but if you drop your Enhancement Plan you are only entitled to the version that was available while you were on the plan.

If you upgraded your environment to a version that you are not entitled to, you will need to re-enroll in your Enhancement Plan.  You will need to pay for the missed period (Apr 24 - Apr 25), then pay for 1 year forward, Apr 25 - Apr 26.  The lapsed renewal will incur a penalty fee as well.

Re-enrolling in the Enhancement Plan will be much less expensive than purchasing a new license.  Whoever your Partner of Record is should have already gone over this with you, if they are aware of your situation.

I encourage you to continue this conversation with your Partner of Record.

    Best Regards,
