Transferring companies from one environment in a tenant to another environment

Hello all,

I have Production environment A in tenant A. In there I have many companies but I want to transfer two of these companies to tenant B into production environment B.

I have read up on environment transfer but that isn't exactly what I want to do as I only want to transfer those two companies. Does anyone have any resources or articles discussing this? Is the only option to copy these somehow and add them to the final destination?

TIA.

As you mentioned, environment transfer won’t work because it transfers the entire environment and all the companies in it. In Dynamics NAV, there was a Copy Company function that allowed you to copy companies between environments, but that feature doesn’t exist in Business Central SaaS anymore.

If you need to transfer over just master data, you can use configuration packages.  If you need master data plus opening balances you can also use configuration packages.

If you need all historical data, you can use the backup functionality to export the production environment to a BacPac file, restore it to an SQL Server, and then use Cloud Migration to import it into the new production environment. During cloud migration, you can select which specific companies to import. This is probably the best way to copy over an exact copy of the company.

Those are the options I can think of.
