I am new to this application MS Dynamics 365 Business Central.  Can someone explain in layman´s term what is Dimension, and what can it do or how do I define or determine what Dimension I should create or set.  I checked the documents helpsite for MS, but I am still a little bit confused, please help.  Thank you very much in advance for your patience and assistance.

Dimensions are like “tags” that you can attach to an entity and that can be used for data analysis or reports. The entity dimensions are normally transferred during a business flow on the relative documents and entries.

For example, you can associate to a customer dimensions like AREA or BUSINESS TYPE. When you create a Sales Order, these dimensions will be automatically associated to the document. In this way you can create reports on sales order for business type.
