How to access D365BC instance server in Azure form my local PC?

Hi Expert,

I have installed a D365BC on-premise in Azure VM, and i would like to integration with it through web service, for example the web service url is:

d365bc-us:7048/.../Company('CRONUS Canada, Inc.')

if i access it from my local, it will error out "cannot resolve remote server 'd365bc-us''", i guess this is a network issue, but i cannot find a way to figure it out.

can anyone shed me some lights on that?

Thanks,

Ming

    1. In portal.azure.com: Go to your virtual machines

    VM1.jpg

    2. Then click on the virtual machine and then on networking

    VM2.jpg

    3. Then validate that there is one rule in the "Inbound port rules" with Port = 7048, Protocol = TCP, Source = Any, Destination = Any

    VM3.jpg

    4. If it is not there, then click "Add inbound port rule" and fill out as shown below. Then click "Add". That should be it

    Hi Peter,

Thank you for your reply, I am a very new user for Azure VM, could you please provide some screenshot or document for this configuration?

    Thanks,

    Ming

Did you make sure that your endpoint is open in the Azure Firewall for port 7048 as suggested by me earlier?

Go to the VM in the Azure Portal. Then click on "Networking" and look at the "Inbound Port Rules" to see, if this port is configured to allow inbound connections (and also not only from another Azure network.

Also, have you tried accessing it from the Azure VM itself? So, have you tried there to go with "localhost:7048/…." and successfully gotten a response from BC? If not, then the issue is there - if you did, the issue should be in the port settings.

    Hi

I tried use public IP Address and complete name like "xxxx.azure.com:7048" instead of "d365bc-us", but it didn't work for me, does anyone has another solution?

    Thanks in advance.

It depends on how the azure VM is setup. If it has a public IP, you would need to use the public IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7048/...

If you are using a domain name, you need to use the full domain name, as the previous poster mentioned.

You also have to make sure that endpoint 7048 is open on the network security settings (aka Firewall) through the Azure portal.

    Hi

Try using the complete name like xxxx.azure.com:7048 instead of "d365bc-us".

If my response helps solve your problem, kindly verify it by clicking Yes
