How to Add Equity G/L Account - Contributions from Shareholders - D365 Business Edition

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

I want to add a new GL Account - Contributions from Shareholders under the Equity section.

What is the best way to do this? So far, I've done the following:

I've added the account to the G/L Account Card with Account Category set as Equity and the Account Subcategory set to Contributions from Shareholders.

I also added the new G/L to the equity section of the M-CASHFLOW and M-RETAIND Account Schedules? Since these reports can be overwritten with an upgrade, should I have created copies with a new name first, and edited the copies for production?

I also created a new G/L Account Category for Contributions from Shareholders

Have I done what I need to do, short of working from new copies of the reports, or are there other steps? Is there something in the G/L Register I should change, other than updating the reporting section if I use newly named report templates for roduction?

Thank you,

Ian

    Hello Ian,

Yes, this is the same process that I also went through to add a 'Contributions from Shareholders' Account under the Equity section. I posted a transaction to my Account and it now shows up on my statements that I added it to.

Please go and vote on this suggestion to be able to copy Account Schedules as there have been a few posts about wanting to be able to do this, which would be helpful in this scenario as well:
