Financial dimension in Sales order lines not defaulting from Item Master

Hi,

I have defined a set of financial dimensions on the item master, which is different from the financial dimension on the customer for which I am creating a sales order. On creation of the sales order, the dimension in the sales order header is defaulted from the customer data. On creation of the sales order line, the financial dimension is directly defaulted from the order header, instead of considering the item master financial dimensions. I need the sales order header to have dimension from the customer, while the sales order line to have the dimension from the item. Can you please let me know how to achieve this?

Regards,

Ashok

    Hi Ashok,

The sales order header will always overwrite the item default dimension at sales order line level. If you want to take item default dimension, you'll have to do some customization.

    Hi Ashok,

Andrew is almost correct. The line will be initialized from the order header. When you enter the item, the default dimensions will be merged from the item dimensions when the dimension on the line at that moment was empty.

So if you always need to have a dimension filled from the item instead of the customer or order header, ensure it was left empty there. Or you should customize it.

    Hi André,

    Hope you are doing well.

I have a concern regarding posting of retail statements with financial dimensions.

Total 7 financial dimensions are defined in the company.

2 financial dimension I have attached in the store, 2 in customer and 3 in the item.

When it comes to posting of the statement of retail transactions only the one added in the store is getting validated not Customer or Item dimension. I am getting error that the dimensions are mandatory as it is configured in the accounts structure.

I understand that it can be checked only during the time of posting of vouchers the financial dimension affected. If I enter all the 7 dimensions in the store the dimensions defined in the Customer and Item are not overriding store dimensions during the time of statement posting.

One strange error that appeared during the time of posting of the statements that although I got error but the statement was partially posted and there was a posting date and I was not able to clear the statement. If I go and check the voucher it is posted with the required dimensions.

Appreciate your response please. I am using MSD AX R3 CU8

    best regards

Hi , in case we need to map 5 different financial dimension to one sales transaction 4 to come from product line item and 1 from customer code, there is no overlapping. as each financial dimension is different. is this can be done.
