There might be many reasons fir that.

It might be caused by some customization you had done in the system. How many item entries are there in Value Entry table?

Also, can you check, perhaps it is a certain item that causes this issue - update the statistics window so it will show you more information during the batch job process (it is a small development). So you might catch a certain problematic item.

Another reason might be incorrect SQL setting, indexing or lack of hardware, thus during batch process all the memory is absorbed and performance drops dramatically.

You can also try to split the batch job in parts by assigning to proccess only part of the items during the night, then next night - another part, and so on. It is not the best advice, but in some cases it is a way out at least temporary, while you are searching for real reason.

    please check your code.

It may be due to poor designing & heavy image  in your report.

This also happens when the data is very huge.

Try to use Commit in your code as this will kill the further records processing.

    Hope this may help you.

We have chosen to make a codeunit that can start - run - exit and commit the "Adjust Cost-Item Entries" for 1 item at a time. This way you avoid changing any code in the "Adjust Cost-Item Entries"  batch and at the same time do a "normal" commit as if you ran the job manually for one item at a time.

The same codeunit makes a log of item no., start time, and ending time.  This helps us to find issues for specific items and also to avoid starting over if an error occurs. The codeunit should always use the log to find its starting point..

Try one item at time or group of items and see if it helps. Also run batch job on daily basis to avoid such iis

Also check if you have any negative inventory in system then try to rectify the entries.

    Dear Rakesh and all expert,

I also facing the same problem too. ACIE (Adjust Cost Item Entries) looks like running loop/endless. I found only one item that have this problem. Probably, its occurred because of wrong applied entries during transaction, such as the prod. order output finished on 25/12/2016 then it used for backdated sales on 21/11/2016, there is a transfer location also that made it more confusing.

I tried many work around to fix this problem such as Costing Error Detection, applied un-applied entries through application worksheet, replacing CU5895 from this hotfix but it wasn't working.

    I'm using NAV 2015 build 8.0.44363.

If you have any experience for solving this kind of problem, hopefully you can give us the solution. :)
