Confirming a purchase order is a manual action, since it involves a business decision - namely your vendor acknowledges that they can deliver the goods on time.

Many companies are developing and setting up a Vendor Self-Service portal where they could confirm the orders themselves once it is published (somehow by indicating that the PO is "finalized"), or by sending it electronically by means of integration (AIF, EDI, OData, etc.) and the vendor acknowledges delivery back, after which your customizatoin confirms the order automatically.

Another solution is for AX 2012 though, where you could create a batch job for PO confirmation with Late selection enabled, and filtering the query for POs with an Approved approval status (or any other indicator fields of your choice), which would pull in those POs for confirmation whenever the batch job runs. Maybe there is something similar for Dynamics 365 for Operations, have a look around for posting in a batch with late selection.

    Hi Maxim_msk,

I agree with the batch job solution that Vilmos mentioned. In the procurement and sourcing module you can easily select and 'auto-confirm' purchase orders if POs are created or if changes are made for example to prices. Just take a look at the confirm purchase order functionality that allows you auto-confirming POs for example based on their status.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Hi Vilmos, could you show me this batch job or you mean to develop it?

Hi Ludwig, could you give me path in system for "confirm purchase order functionality"?

Maybe start by reading the help https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/operations/supply-chain/procurement/purchase-order-approval-confirmation

and also check this prior post https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/33/t/114312

and see Lachlan's video https://organicax.com/2016/03/25/purchase-order-workflow-configuration-with-auto-approval/ for an example to set up a purchase order workflow that will auto approve when the order is below $5000 or else it will go to someone for approval.

that should be enough to get your going.

    Hi Maxim_msk,

Please check the procurement and sourcing module and then the purchase order confirmation section. There you can find a menu item denominated 'confirm purchase orders'. You can also use the search functionality of D365f.O. to navigate to this form quickly.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Ludwig, i can't see anything about auto-confirmation in P&S module

    Hi,
Please check the following form where you can setup filters and apply a batch job for auto-confirmations.
