We import users from AD. But AX trims the names for UserID to8 characters. Is it possible that we can manually state the UserID according to our preference rather than Auto Trim

No, it is not possible. UserId is a kernel EDT and therefore cannot be modified in the application like other EDT's. If the EDT was in the application, you would be able to increase the size.

    Hi Sanjeshni,

With help of a customization it would be possible to make the User ID field editable on the AD import wizard. Ensure you don't change the ADAlias field as this is one of the parts used for authentication of the user (together with the SID and domain fields).

If you create the users manually, you can already provide an own user ID.
