BYOD or Dataverse for CRM?

Hello CRM experts,

We have set up BYOD for F&O and HR in my organisation.

What is the best approach for CRM? Should it be BYOD for CRM OR Dataverse(CDS) for CRM?

Human Resources is making Dataverse(Common Data Service) the preferred public interface for Human Resources data. Does it apply for CRM as well as Dataverse has all CRM entities at the disposal?

Regards,

Sunila

    Hi Sunila,

This blog post compares Microsoft Dataverse (CDS) against Bring Your Own Database (BYOD) in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. The BYOD feature is a Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations feature, but it is not a Dynamics CRM feature. Therefore, you will need to use Microsoft Dataverse with Dynamics CRM as it is already the backbone that powers Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
