Dynamics GP using Amazon SQL RDS (Amazon Relational Database Service)?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

Has anyone configured Microsoft Dynamics GP instance on EC2 using Amazon SQL RDS? I started doing little configuration and it seems like Amazon SQL RDS master database is pretty locked down. They don't provide 'sa' user account instead they allow user to create a master account which will not have "sysadmin" or "dbcreator" roles attached. I have tried naming the master user account as "sa" and tried to use when launching the Dynamics GP 2016 utilities but GP was giving error message "Login failed; please contact the administrator".

Please let me know if anyone has succeeded in setting up a GP instance using Amazon SQL RDS or any other suggestions?

Regards

Samuel Mathew
