Report error 56029 Database Vendor Code 208

Posted on by 20

I have a report that has been modified to include data from a table that is in the same database but has a different schema.  I have two databases: a test database and the production database.  The report runs fine in the production database but will not run in the Test database.  I receive the error: "Report execution failed.  Error =  56029"  also "Details: [Database Vendor Code: 208]".  I've tried everything I can think of including a value in the "Overridden Qualified Table Name" in Crystal reports and nothing works.

Thanks,

Miles

    Hello Miles

208 is an 'invalid object name' error.  The error will probably show the table or view name.  Frequently you get an error like that when the report is using a custom table or view.  Example:  Assume I create a custom table xAPTran and attach that to the AP Trial Balance report.  Then I create a new database and try to run that report on the new database where I have not created that custom table yet.  I'm going to get a 'vendor error 208'.  The 'vendor' is SQL Server, so the error is saying I'm encountering a SQL Server error 208, 'invalid object name' I believe that the error message, probably will tell you what object name is invalid.

Thank you for the response.  I have tried this already (actually a few times) and I never get any issues/or messages.  Just that the message that the " database is up to date"

    Miles

When you open the report in crystal, click on verify database, and if you get a message that a field is not found then you may need to verify your tables in the database.

Let me know if you are getting any messages.
